1. Trip in Harbin (one or two days)

(1) Sun Island

Lying on north bank of Harbin Songhua River, the Sun Island is elegant, and well-known with a melodious song of On the Sun Island. The eyes of numerous guests longing for beauty are feasted.

There are 1.06 million trees, including more than 30 kinds of clove trees on the Sun Island. More than 2000 animals and 100 birds inhabit in the scenic spot. It seems that another feeling will be brought to people in such a small place. Whether beauty of the great flying waterfall, or exoticism of the Russian custom town, can both be appreciated on the Island.

(2) Siberian Tiger Park

Siberian Tiger Park, located on the northern side of the Songhua River, covers an area of 966,000 square meters. It was first opened to public in 1996 and now there are over 600 tigers in the park. Even the rare species - white tigers and ligers can be seen here. The tigers here are trained to get used to a natural environment, so that when the conditions permit, they will be released to mountains and make a living by themselves. In the park, you will be ushered into a small van with a chain link fence in place of windows. The driver would drive us into the park where we would have "direct" contact with the tigers. And feeding a tiger yourself is also a fancy experience.


(3)Jile Temple

Jile Temple (the Temple of Ultimate Bliss) is one of the four most important Buddhist temples in northeast China. The temple is characterized by its age, its architecture and its lay out and all are designed strictly after the Chinese Buddhist style. The temple is therefore looked upon as the model for visitors to understand and appreciate the art of Chinese temple building.

The complex of the temple consists of the Heavenly King's Hall, the Grand Hall, the Three Bodhisattva Hall, and the Buddhist Book Storage Hall. The main halls are fronted by a Drum Tower and a Bell Tower and other subordinate structures. The most imposing building of the temple is probably the 7-level Futu Pagoda on the eastern tip of the grounds, a 37m tall stone structure building dotted with caves engraved with Buddhist embossed sculptures. At the bottom of the pagoda is a large hall with Buddhist statues.

(4) Jin Shangjing History Museum

If architecture is a silent language, Jin Shangjing History Museum, assembling best of cultural relics, whispers the ancient history of Jin Dynasty in our ears. As one of China's four noted ancient capitals during the Jin Dynasty, it can always bring us back to the battlefield period. This region was 11 kilometers in circumference and east-west divide split it into two sectors. The southern part served as the imperial city while in the south there were living quarters. It is a comparatively well-preserved capital site from the Jin Dynasty period, enabling you to become familiarized with its long history and culture. At present, the attractions here are the Jin Dynasty City Ruins and eight exhibition halls. The Jinshangjing History Museum is the only one in China to house Jin Dynasty antiquities.


(5) The Dragon Tower

The Dragon Tower---the broadcasting television tower of Heilongjiang Province, is located in the high and new technology development zone of Harbin. The Tower is 336 meters high, ranks the second highest steel architecture tower in the world and the first highest in Asia. It is like a dazzling jewel inlaid on the earth of Harbin. It has become the landmark scene of Harbin and even Heilongjiang Province, and attracts world people's attention. The Dragon Tower is a comprehensive multifunctional tower that integrates transmission of broadcast and TV, tourism, sightseeing, food and beverage service, and wireless communication together.



2. Jingpo Lake (two or three days)

Jingpo Lake is situated at the boundless range of mountains to the southwest of Ningan County of Heilongjiang Province, 80km from Mudanjiang City, which is a famous high mountain clogged up lake of China. There is water in the mountains and mountains in the water with charming and gentle scenery. The lake water is so clear that you can see bottom through it and fish swimming around. There exists the tranquility in the environment.

Situated at the outlet to the north of the Lake basin lies the cataract of the Water Dropping Tower, ceaselessly flowing all the year round. During the overflow period in autumn, the fall is 25 meters with 40 meters in width, flying down from the precipice, which gives rise to clouds upon clouds of water vapor forming one rainbow after another like the Milky Way standing upside down and thunder rolling. It can be heard miles away. The scenery is simply magnificent. There is a deep pool below known as Heilong (Black Dragon) Pool in the form of slightly round shape, the diameter of which is 70 meters with a depth of 60 meters.

3. Wudalianchi Lake (two or three days)

Lying to the northwest of Dedu County in Heilongjiang Province, Wudalianchi Lake, formed by a string of five smaller lakes, can be reached from Harbin by train to Dedu followed by a one-hour bus ride. The scenery here is spectacular, with grotesquely shaped peaks, rocks, and caves and the sites of a dozen shield-shaped and fourteen cone –shaped volcanoes. The area is a "volcanic museum" which also attracts scientists and researched as well as tourists.

The youngest but largest of the volcanoes are Mount Laohei and Mount Huoshao, which last erupted 260 years ago. Mount Laohei's slopes are covered with cinder and are very steep. Its funnel – shaped crater is a hundred meters deep. When it erupted last, the molten lava pouring down from the crater blocked a river and created five dammed lakes. Numbers from one to five, giving them in Chinese the name "Wudalianchi", identifies them.

Among the many springs in the area, the most famous include South Spring (Nanquan), North Spring (Beiquan), South Washing Spring (Nanxiquan), and Bubbling Spring (Fanhuaquan). The water is cool, bitter, and foamy, suitable for drinking and bathing and said to be highly effective in curing certain diseases.

4. Changbai Montain

Located in the counties of Antu, Wusong and Changbai in southern Jilin Province, Changbaishan is one of China's nature preservation zones, covering an area of over 200,000 hectares, extending 78.5 kilometers north to south, and 53.3 kilometers west to east. It has a wholesome natural environment and ecosystem with world famous precious animals like Northeast Tigers, sikas, sables etc. It's China's typical comprehensive nature existence of world importance.

The Crater Lake:- It nestles on Baitoushan (The White-Head Mountain), the main peak of the Changbaishan and is also a border lake between China and Korea. Surrounded by 16 exotic peaks, the lake is the crater of a volcano, filled with blue waters, known as "The Heavenly Lake". The basin-shaped lake, 2155 meters above sea level, and 313 meters deep at maximum, encompasses an area of 9.2 square kilometers. The surface of the Lake is smooth as a mirror, with the reflections of grotesque cliffs upon it in numerous exotic shapes.

The Waterfall of Changbaishan:- The water of the Heavenly Lake finds its way out through an opening in the northern bank and at a vertical cliff, 1250 meters away, drops 68 meters down with loud rumbles. The Changbai Waterfall hangs in the air like a white ribbon.

The Hot Springs of Changbaishan:- At the north side of the White-Head Mountain, there is a group of hot springs coverings an area of over one thousand square meters. The springs vary in temperature, with the highest reaching 82 degree Celsius. The hot waters contain hydrogen sulphide and have high medical value.
